On the first night of Sendai Tanabata Festival (Star festival), so many people
passed through the Nakake-Cho street. However, the number of people passed
through was clearly less than usual year: according to a newspaper,
the number of visitors of the festival during 3 days was about 60% of
usual year.

■August 6, 2021: Nakake-Cho (In front of Mihara-Do)
This soundscape was recorded at in front of the Mihara-Do in the second block
of the central street from the station. So many people passed through the
street around here, too. It is worth noting that there were many families
with their children which could not be seen at usual night.

■August 6, 2021: CLIS road (in front of AEON shopping center)
This soundscape was recorded in front of AEON. The number of people passing
through this point was less than in front of Mihara-Do: maybe because
this was recorded just before 9:00 pm when all restaurants and bars were
required to close. The number of people who went in and out AEON shopping
center was less compared to the number of people passing through this point.

■August 6, 2021: In front of Fujisaki Department store
The number of people passed around Fujisaki Department store was quite more
than recent usual night. Many people visited to watch star festival
decorations not only on Chuo street but also on Ichiban-Cho street which
intersects in front of Fujisaki. Some touts of Izakaya bars were standing
at the intersection of Chuo street and Ichiban-Cho street, but they were
not touting while I recorded this soundscape: maybe because wardens were
patrolling just before I started the recording.
