At the Shinobu-Sanzan Akatsuki Mairi (Visiting Shinto shrine at Mt. Shinobu,
at dawn) Festival, the big sandal dedicated to Haguro Shinto shrine (located
at the top of Mt. Shinobu) is paraded around the city. The big sandal came
to the Fukushima station square.

|
At the square, Kagura (music and dance for Shinto Gods) was performed:
Tengu (a long-nosed goblin) was dancing with the music.

|
About 200 or 300 spectators were there. After the quake, it was first
time for me to see such numbers of people at the station square.

I heard that number of new year's worshippers at a certain Shinto shrine
was more than usual year and also number of people who attended a prayer
was more. Perhaps, people who call upon the gods and Buddhas for help may
increase after the quake.
